I wish to thank God for using His Sent Ones to bring reconciliation in my family.
During the recent marriage seminar which happens to be my first marriage seminar, the Man of
God taught on four aspects that lessen intimacy in relationships, one of them being shallow
communication. The Man of God said, “avoid shallow communication.”
My younger sister had not spoken to me for three months. She neither picked my calls nor
replied my messages on WhatsApp. I wasn’t worried because I knew she was doing well but I
didn’t understand why she was not picking my calls. I stopped calling or texting and said, “… by
the way, it’s the younger who looks for the elder and not the other way round.”
After the marriage seminar, I got home and decided to practice what I learned, beginning with
my younger sister. I texted her and said, “sister, how are you doing? I trust you are doing well.
You know I’m very busy. I’m sorry I haven’t been able to get to you but please, try to write me.”
Immediately she replied, “No brother, I’m not mad at you; it’s okay. I understand. I’m also busy
with school.” That night, I exclaimed, The Gospel! The Gospel! Now my sister and I are in the
flow.
Thank you, Man and Woman of God. During the 20 th anniversary you said, “God does not
forget our labour of love.” As you keep impacting us, this knowledge will get to the outermost
part of the earth. Personally, I’m still in process of learning.
Drs. Shawn and Annie Smith, thank you for being a good shepherd to us.
